Zyhongyi Optics introduces new super wide-aperture prime lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras
Zyhongyi Optics has recently introduced a new, super wide-aperture prime lens for APS-C Sony, Nikon, Canon, and Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. The manual focus Speedmaster 20mm f/0.95 is designed for interior, landscape, or architectural photographers, as well as videographers seeking a versatile, affordable, and lightweight lens.
Available in Japan, the lens is priced at approximately $430/£330/AU$655. With an aperture of f/0.95, it is well-suited for low-light conditions and can produce clear images with minimal noise even at high ISO sensitivities or shutter speeds.
The lens comprises 13 elements in 8 groups, including 1 aspherical lens, 1 ED lens, and 4 ultra-high refractive index lenses, which contribute to reducing flare and distortion. Additionally, its 9-bladed aperture creates a smooth rounded bokeh when shooting wide open, while the minimum shooting distance of 0.3m allows for dynamic, eye-catching shots.
Constructed with high-quality materials, the lens features a rugged build and a textured barrel for improved grip. Despite being more expensive than the Viltrox AF 20mm f/2.8 for full-frame Sony cameras, the Speedmaster 20mm f/0.95 offers better quality and a faster lens, albeit without autofocus.
Given the scarcity of lenses in this price range that can achieve such fast shooting, particularly for Canon RF, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, and Sony E mount, the Speedmaster 20mm f/0.95 is likely to attract photographers seeking an affordable, wide-angle lens.
