Tesco and British Heart Foundation Partner to Promote Heart Health

Experts say that maintaining a healthy heart can be achieved by making simple changes to our daily routines, and Tesco, in partnership with the British Heart Foundation, is leading the charge in raising awareness of heart health.

According to experts, as many as 5 million Brits have undiagnosed high blood pressure, putting them at risk of potential complications. Additionally, excess weight and obesity contribute to around 31,000 heart and circulatory deaths annually in the UK.

To address these concerns, Tesco is offering a range of nutritious and delicious meals that have been approved by nutritionists from the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK. These meals are designed to make it easier for individuals to plan and prepare heart-healthy dishes using affordable ingredients.

Some of the mouthwatering meal options include tricolour scrambled eggs for breakfast, smoky chipotle chilli for lunch, mini pea pancakes for afternoon snacks, and crispy roast chicken thighs with beetroot and chickpeas for dinner. These dishes are not only tasty but also packed with essential nutrients and vegetables.

Tesco’s company nutritionist, Laura Farrell, emphasizes the importance of adopting a balanced and nutritious diet as part of a healthy lifestyle to support heart health. She points out that the Tesco recipe hub features a variety of delicious meals that promote heart health, such as the smoky roasted tomato and aubergine pearl barley risotto, which is low in saturated fat, rich in fiber, and provides two of your five a day.

Since 2018, Tesco has been collaborating with the British Heart Foundation to create initiatives that support heart health. By leveraging their position within communities, Tesco aims to assist customers in leading healthier lives.
