Stock Market Holiday Schedule for 2024 Announced

The stock market’s holiday schedule for 2024 has been announced, and investors are eager to plan their trading activities accordingly. The markets will be closed on Friday, March 29 in observance of Good Friday, a significant day for Christian and Catholic churches that commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.

Both the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will be closed on Good Friday and will resume operations on Monday, April 1. Additionally, the U.S. bond market will close at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday and remain closed on Friday, as confirmed by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Following the closure for Good Friday, normal trading activities will resume on Wall Street until late May. The next scheduled closure is on Monday, May 27, 2024, in observance of Memorial Day.

United States stock market 2024 holiday schedule:

  • Good Friday: Friday, March 29
  • Memorial Day: Monday, May 27
  • Juneteenth: Wednesday, June 19
  • Independence Day: Thursday, July 4
  • Labor Day: Monday, Sept. 2
  • Thanksgiving: Thursday, Nov. 28
  • Christmas: Wednesday, Dec. 25

Investors and traders are advised to take note of these dates and plan their investment strategies accordingly, considering the market closures on these significant holidays throughout the year.
