Popular Pizza Chain Mod Pizza Contemplating Bankruptcy

A popular pizza chain with over 500 locations in the United States is reportedly contemplating filing for bankruptcy, as per Bloomberg reports. Mod Pizza, renowned for its customizable pizza and salad offerings, is said to be considering seeking bankruptcy protection as early as next week. While discussions are ongoing, the final decision is yet to be made, leaving uncertainty regarding the potential impact on the chain’s current outlets.

Mod Pizza, founded in Seattle in 2008, has expanded its presence to 28 states, including Alabama. With sales exceeding $700 million last year, the chain was previously identified as one of the rapidly growing restaurant chains in the country. Despite earlier intentions to reach 1,000 locations by 2024, the current situation suggests a different trajectory for the company.

In response to the reports, a Mod Pizza spokesperson stated, “We’re diligently working towards enhancing our capital structure and exploring various avenues to achieve this goal.” The possibility of closures at the existing Mod Pizza locations remains uncertain pending further developments.
