New H-E-B Store Set to Open in Fast-Growing Georgetown Suburb

Another H-E-B store is set to open in Georgetown, catering to the fast-growing population of the suburb. The new store will be part of the Parmer Ranch Marketplace, a 31-acre shopping center developed by Barshop and Oles Co. The center will also feature retail buildings, pad sites for lease or purchase, and is expected to open in summer 2025.

The new H-E-B store, spanning approximately 110,000 square feet, will be accompanied by a fuel station and carwash, with an estimated construction cost of $30 million for the store and $2 million for the fuel station. Construction is anticipated to commence in the next 60 days, pending permit approval, with the store expected to begin operations in 2025.

Georgetown’s rapid population growth, with a 29% increase since 2020, has attracted developers to the area. The suburb, with about 87,000 residents as of last year, was ranked as the fastest-growing city in the nation in 2022, based on a 14.4% gain from 2021 to 2022. Barshop and Oles partner, Milo Burdette, highlighted the influx of new residential growth in the western portion of Georgetown, motivating the decision to establish the new retail center.

Georgetown is already home to two other H-E-B stores, with the planned new store expected to provide convenience to residents living near the northern edge of the suburb. The nearest H-E-B for those in areas like Florence is currently about 20 miles away, making the new store a welcome addition to the community.

The addition of the new H-E-B store in Georgetown reflects the company’s continued expansion in the Austin metro area, where it already operates approximately 50 stores. The move also aligns with the retail giant’s strategy to meet the growing consumer demand in high-growth areas, further solidifying its presence in the region.
