A recent promo for the beloved game show ‘Wheel of Fortune’ has sparked mixed reactions among fans following the retirement of long-time host, Pat Sajak. The new advertisement, shared on Instagram on July 2, features the show’s new host, Ryan Seacrest, alongside Vanna White, eagerly announcing the show’s upcoming return this fall.
Notably absent from the promo is the iconic Pat Sajak, who bid farewell to viewers on June 7 after hosting the show for over 40 years. In a heartfelt speech, Sajak expressed his gratitude to the audience, stating, ‘It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade.’
Following Sajak’s retirement announcement last summer, where he revealed that the 41st season would be his last, Ryan Seacrest was chosen as his successor. However, the decision to have Seacrest take over the hosting duties has not been well-received by all fans.
Some viewers expressed their disappointment with the choice, with one commenting, ‘Never liked Seacrest. After forty years I’m going to no longer be a wheel watcher. Maggie, Blossom anybody but Seacrest. Nope not going to watch.’
The transition from Sajak to Seacrest has stirred up emotions among loyal fans of the show, with many expressing mixed feelings about the change in host. As the anticipation builds for the new season of ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ it remains to be seen how viewers will respond to the revamped version of the long-running game show.
