Luann de Lesseps, a former star of The Real Housewives of New York City, recently shared her thoughts on the lawsuit filed against Andy Cohen and Bravo by Leah McSweeney. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, de Lesseps expressed her support for Cohen and Bravo, emphasizing that no one is forced to do anything on the show. She highlighted her own sobriety journey on the show, mentioning that Bravo has always been supportive of her decision not to drink.
De Lesseps, who appeared on the first 13 seasons of RHONY, now stars in her own show, Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake, alongside Sonja Morgan. She also participated in The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip for two seasons.
Regarding the lawsuit, McSweeney alleged that Cohen and Bravo exploited her struggles with alcoholism for ratings and accused Cohen of engaging in cocaine use with Real Housewives stars, claims that Cohen has denied. De Lesseps defended Cohen, stating that it is not in his character and confirming that they have a professional relationship.
Despite the legal drama, de Lesseps provided an update on her sobriety, mentioning that she now drinks on occasion and feels she is in a good place with her journey. She also discussed using Dr. Daryl Gioffre’s Acid-Kicking Alcohol Alkalizer as part of her health routine while on her Countess Cabaret Tour.
