Kansas Women’s Basketball Star Taiyanna Jackson Named Big 12 Player of the Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – Kansas women’s basketball star center Taiyanna Jackson has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Jackson’s week was highlighted by the eighth 20-20 game in DI women’s basketball this season, as she scored 25 points and posted 22 rebounds in a 67-53 win over BYU.

It was the first 20-20 game for a Jayhawk since 2015. She followed up with 20 points and nine rebounds against TCU on Saturday, as she led KU to another victory. On the week, she averaged 22.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and shot 66.7% from the field. It’s Jackson’s first weekly honor of the season, and the third of her career.
