G.SKILL Announces Launch of 8th Annual OC World Cup 2024

G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd. has recently revealed the launch of the 8th Annual OC World Cup 2024, an extreme overclocking competition that is set to take place with a series of challenging stages and a substantial prize pool.

The event will commence with the Online Qualifier Stage, scheduled from March 1, 2024, to April 3, 2024. From this stage, nine finalists will progress to the Live Qualifier Stage, coinciding with Computex 2024 in Taipei. Here, participants will compete for a share of the $40,000 USD prize pool, with the OC Champion securing $10,000 USD.

The OC World Cup 2024 is recognized for its demanding challenges, consisting of the Online Qualifier, Live Qualifier, and Grand Final stages. The top nine overclockers from the Online Qualifier will gather for a live showdown during Computex 2024 at the G.SKILL booth in Nangang Exhibition Hall. Following this, the three highest-scoring participants from the Live Qualifier will contend for the OC Champion title in the Grand Final.

The key dates for the competition are as follows:

  • Online Qualifier: March 1, 2024, to April 3, 2024
  • Live Qualifier: June 4, 2024, to June 6, 2024
  • Grand Final: June 7, 2024

The Online Qualifier of OC World Cup 2024 presents overclockers with four challenge stages: DDR5 Memory Frequency, PYPrime 32B, 7-ZIP, and SuperPi-32M. Those interested in participating can access event details, rules, and registration on the competition webpage.

The total cash prize pool for OC World Cup 2024 amounts to $40,000 USD, with the OC Champion of the Grand Final set to receive the grand prize of $10,000 USD, the highest single cash prize in the overclocking community.

Additionally, the cash prize breakdown is as follows:

  • Champion: $10,000 USD
  • 2nd place: $6,500 USD
  • 3rd place: $5,000 USD
  • 4th place: $4,200 USD
  • 5th place: $3,400 USD
  • 6th place: $3,000 USD
  • 7th place: $2,800 USD
  • 8th place: $2,600 USD
  • 9th place: $2,500 USD

Moreover, each of the top nine overclockers in the Online Qualifier will receive a DDR5-8000 48 GB (2x 24 GB) memory kit. Additionally, three participants who complete all four challenge stages of the Online Qualifier will be randomly selected to win a DDR5-7600 32 GB (2x 16 GB) memory kit.
