A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued by the Met Office for Leicestershire this afternoon. According to the Met Office, storms are expected to develop throughout the afternoon and into the evening. The warning is in effect from 12 pm today until 12 am tomorrow.

The affected area includes Leicester and most parts of south, east, and west Leicestershire. However, towns in the north of the county, like Melton and Loughborough, are not covered by the weather warning.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution on the roads due to the possibility of heavy rain, which could lead to travel disruption and potential flooding. There is also a slight risk of power cuts that may impact both residential and commercial services.

Stay updated with the latest weather alerts and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of potential thunderstorms in Leicestershire.
