Xiaomi HyperOS Coming to More Smartphones Soon: Full List of Supported Devices

Xiaomi HyperOS Coming to More Smartphones Soon: Full List of Supported Devices

Xiaomi’s new HyperOS, initially launched in China, is set to roll out globally on a range of devices, including budget phones. The new operating system promises enhanced features, improved system security, and seamless integration with other devices.

Xiaomi announced its new user interface, HyperOS, last year in October 2023 with its initial launch in China. Built upon the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and incorporating Android 14, Xiaomi has designed its new OS to unlock the full potential of its devices across the ecosystem. During the launch, Xiaomi confirmed that HyperOS will arrive for Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones globally starting from the first quarter of 2024. And it seems like the list will include even budget phones, including the Redmi 12C.

Xiaomi is reportedly expanding the HyperOS rollout to phones of all classes, including Redmi 12C. According to the changelog posted by some users on platform X (formally Twitter), Redmi 12C’s recent software update with build number 1.0.2.0.UCVINXM includes the arrival of HyperOS in the device. The update includes security updates and a bunch of new features integrated by HyperOS.

A user named @sunnny1583 on X shared a screenshot of the changelog for the new Hyper OS feature, which promises to bring life-inspired aesthetics to the device. The feature includes natural colors and intuitive animations, as well as a new system font that can handle multiple writing systems. The weather app has also been revamped to show realistic animations of the outside conditions. Additionally, the update improves the notification system and the system security with the latest Android Security Patch for January 2024.

While the screenshot reveals only a few features of HyperOS, Xiaomi’s new operating system, if Xiaomi decides to launch HyperOS widely, we can look forward to more updates and features on the phone, such as:

  • UI: The update will offer a lock screen similar to iOS, a notification interface like Dynamic-Island, and customizable Quick Settings and widgets.
  • Improvements in performance: HyperOS will also improve the speed and efficiency of the phone, with faster boot times and better memory management for apps.
  • Cross-device connectivity: The HyperOS will also enable seamless integration of the phone with other Xiaomi devices, allowing for a more connected ecosystem.
