WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i, Father of Roman Reigns, Passes Away at 79

WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i, known as the father of current WWE superstar Roman Reigns, has passed away at the age of 79. Sika, a member of the legendary tag team The Wild Samoans alongside his brother Afa Anoa’i, left behind a lasting legacy in the wrestling world.

His nephew Jahrus shared the news of Sika’s peaceful passing on June 25th, highlighting his significant contributions and the impact he had on many lives. Described as a hardworking father, caring brother, and supportive uncle, Sika was revered for his warmth, kindness, and work ethic.

Aside from being Roman Reigns’ father, Sika was also the father of the late WWE wrestler Matthew Anoa’i, known as Rosey. Sika’s wrestling career began in 1973, and he went on to become a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion before retiring in 1988. In 2007, The Wild Samoans were rightfully inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

In 2020, Sika and Afa made a memorable return to WWE to support Roman Reigns, who was being acknowledged as the Tribal Chief at the Hell In A Cell premium live event. Their reunion on screen brought nostalgia to fans and highlighted the family’s deep connection to the wrestling industry.

Sika’s passing marks the end of an era in WWE history, but his legacy as a wrestling icon and a beloved family member will continue to inspire future generations in the industry. His impact on the wrestling community and the lives he touched will always be remembered with fondness and respect.
