The report mentions that in a recent WhatsApp update for iPhone users WhatsApp is testing a new feature called passkeys. This feature to make account verification easier and better. Some users in the beta test can now try out this passkey feature after updating to the latest version.

Previously, WhatsApp had introduced this feature for Android users, and now iPhone users get to join in. The passkey adds an extra layer of security and convenience. It’s an optional feature, so users can choose whether to use it or not.

For those who opt for the passkey, setting it up is simple. Once configured, the passkey is saved on iCloud Keychain. This means users can log in using their device passcode or biometric authentication instead of the usual 6-digit code.
