What’s Open and Closed in Toronto for the Easter Long Weekend

As the Easter long weekend approaches, many Torontonians are curious about what will be open and closed during the holiday. Good Friday, a public holiday in Ontario, and Easter Monday, a federal holiday, will see various businesses and services altering their operating hours.

On Good Friday, most major grocery stores, some banks, the LCBO, the Beer Store, library services, government offices, Canada Post mail collection and delivery services, community recreation facilities, cultural centres, art galleries, and the AGO will be closed. However, Loblaws on Carlton Street, Rabba Fine Foods locations, select Shoppers Drug Stores and Rexall locations, as well as major attractions like the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, and the Royal Ontario Museum will remain open. GO Transit and the TTC will operate on modified schedules.

On Easter Sunday, most grocery stores, the Beer Store, the LCBO, library services, and the St. Lawrence Market will be closed. However, Loblaws on Carlton Street, Rabba Fine Foods locations, the CF Eaton Centre, the High Park Animal Display, conservatories, Toronto history museums, regularly scheduled drop-in programs, community centre activities, and various attractions will be open.

As for Easter Monday, the LCBO will operate under reduced hours at select locations, while most tourist attractions, cultural attractions, and the St. Lawrence Market will be open.

It’s important for residents to plan their activities and errands accordingly, considering the adjusted schedules and closures during the Easter long weekend.
