Wegmans Food Markets, a popular New York-based grocery chain, is set to make its debut in Charlotte with the opening of its first location in Ballantyne in 2026. According to Hallie Johnston, N.C. district manager, the new Wegmans location will be situated on North Community House Road, located on the east side of Ballantyne, just a half mile from The Bowl at Ballantyne. The decision to bring Wegmans to Charlotte was made possible by the establishment of a large distribution center outside Richmond in 2023. This facility has empowered the brand to expand its reach into the southern region, enabling the fulfillment of the growing demand for Wegmans’ offerings in Charlotte.
