Wayzata’s Jackson McAndrew has been named Mr. Basketball by the Mr. Basketball of Minnesota Committee, marking the end of his high school career and the beginning of his next chapter. The 6-9 senior forward, committed to Creighton for college, stood out with an impressive average of 23.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for the Trojans. His standout performance included a career-high 40 points in a crucial championship game.

McAndrew’s accuracy on the court was noteworthy, with a 52% shooting rate from the floor and an 80% success rate from the free-throw line. His contributions were instrumental in Wayzata’s success, as they secured the state crown in 2021 and 2023, and were runners-up in the recent state tournament.

Competing against four other finalists, including high-profile recruits, McAndrew’s exceptional skills and achievements set him apart, earning him the prestigious title of Mr. Basketball. This recognition solidifies his position as one of the top senior high school boys basketball players in the state.
