Wahoo TRACKR: The Latest Heart Rate Monitor for Cyclists

The latest heart rate monitor from Wahoo, the Wahoo TRACKR, has been making waves in the cycling tech world. Replacing the older Wahoo TICKR and TICKR X models, the TRACKR brings some exciting updates to the table.

One of the standout features of the Wahoo TRACKR is its switch from replaceable coin batteries to a rechargeable unit. This change significantly improves the battery life, offering up to 100 hours on a single charge compared to the previous 500 hours. The magnetic charging cable with a USB C connector makes recharging a breeze.

Not only is the TRACKR more efficient in terms of battery life, but it also boasts enhanced accuracy and HRV readings. The unit is slightly smaller in size compared to its predecessors but sits more prominently on the chest. The strap has been redesigned with a wider section for improved heart rate detection and accuracy.

Despite the strap being smaller in dimensions, Wahoo assures that it can accommodate chest sizes up to 127cm thanks to its elastic nature. The new side closure design aims to prevent damage to the connection points, ensuring durability.

Weighing in at 11g for the pod and 40g for the strap, the Wahoo TRACKR is a lightweight option for cyclists. It can connect to up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously and also supports ANT+ connectivity.

Wahoo has updated its algorithms to enhance heart rate detection accuracy, promising users a more reliable performance. With an IPX7 rating, the TRACKR is suitable for cycling in wet conditions but not recommended for swimming due to its water resistance limitations.

Overall, the Wahoo TRACKR offers cyclists a rechargeable, lightweight, and accurate heart rate monitoring solution. While it comes at a higher price point than its predecessors, the improved features and performance make it a solid choice for serious cyclists looking to track their heart rate effectively.
