VALORANT Upgrades to Unreal Engine 5 for Enhanced Gameplay Experience

VALORANT Transitioning to Unreal Engine 5: New Playable Experiences on the Horizon

Riot Games is set to elevate its popular tactical hero shooter, VALORANT, by transitioning from Unreal Engine 4.27 to the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5. Announced by studio head Anna Donlon during Unreal Fest Seattle 2024, this significant upgrade promises to enhance the gaming experience while maintaining the current aesthetic appeal of the game.

During her presentation, Donlon expressed the team’s commitment to squeezing every bit of performance from Unreal Engine 4 before making this leap. She stated, “We have squeezed literally every ounce of everything we could out of Unreal 4, so now we make the move to UE5. That is not an easy feat when your game is a live service game but it’s necessary for sure.” This transition is expected to pave the way for innovative gameplay experiences that the development team is currently working on.

Although specific details about these new experiences remain under wraps, Donlon hinted at exciting developments on the horizon for VALORANT players. As the game continues to evolve, fans can anticipate fresh content that will enrich their gaming sessions.

In addition to the engine upgrade, there have been recent leaks regarding VALORANT Mobile. These leaks suggest that the mobile version will feature an advanced training mode, offering players specialized training courses. This includes jump and jiggle peek training, aimed at honing players’ skills and improving their overall gameplay.

Riot Games is also actively addressing global economic shifts by adjusting pricing across its live games. In India, for instance, VALORANT has seen a price decrease of 6%, reflecting the company’s efforts to balance in-game costs across various regions. Other titles, such as League of Legends on PC and Teamfight Tactics, have also experienced a price reduction of 4%.

Moreover, Riot Games has identified issues related to players manipulating regional pricing. Some players have been switching regions to take advantage of lower in-game currency prices, purchasing currency at a cheaper rate and subsequently selling their accounts in different regions. This has prompted the company to take steps to ensure fair pricing practices across the board.

As VALORANT continues to grow and adapt, players can look forward to a seamless transition to Unreal Engine 5 and the introduction of new gameplay experiences that promise to elevate the tactical shooter to new heights.

Stay tuned for more updates as Riot Games reveals further details about the transition and upcoming features for VALORANT.
