University of Michigan Men’s Basketball Team Falls to Nebraska in Regular-Season Finale

The University of Michigan men’s basketball team faced a tough loss in their regular-season finale, falling 85-70 to Nebraska on Sunday’s Senior Day at Crisler Center. Despite a strong performance from Dug McDaniel, who led the Wolverines with 17 points and five assists, the team was unable to secure a victory.

Michigan started the game with a promising lead of 16-14, but Nebraska quickly turned the tide with an 8-0 run, gaining a six-point lead which they maintained for the rest of the game. The first half saw both teams shooting at a high percentage, with Michigan making four of its first six three-point field goals, but Nebraska’s strong performance allowed them to enter halftime with a 50-43 lead.

In the second half, Nebraska continued to dominate, extending their lead to double digits for the first time in the game. Michigan struggled to find their rhythm and faced a 20-point deficit at one point. Although they managed to cut the deficit to 12 points, their late-game efforts were not enough to overcome Nebraska’s lead, resulting in a final score of 85-70 in favor of Nebraska.

The loss marks a disappointing end to the regular season for the Wolverines, who will now look to regroup and prepare for the challenges ahead. Despite the setback, the team showed moments of resilience and determination, particularly with standout performances from Dug McDaniel and senior Terrance Williams II.
