United Airlines has issued a full ground stop at Bush Airport on Monday morning, affecting all departures from George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The stop was prompted by the winter weather sweeping across the Houston area.
In a statement, United Airlines acknowledged the delays caused by the winter weather at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and assured that their operations team is actively monitoring weather developments across the country to adjust the schedule accordingly. The airline also encouraged customers to check their flight status and view the latest information on their website. Additionally, waivers are in place for customers traveling to, from, or through impacted cities in the region.
United Airlines advised travelers to download their mobile app and use the Agent on Demand tool, which allows them to bypass lines and seek assistance via text, FaceTime, or phone call.
For more information regarding the winter weather, customers were directed to ERCOT’s Weather Watch ahead of extreme cold weather in SE Texas and were provided with tips on fireplace and chimney care to prepare for freezing temperatures in the area.
