Ubisoft Confirms Remakes of Beloved Assassin’s Creed Games

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise can look forward to remakes of some of the beloved games from the series. In a recent interview with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemont, it was revealed that the company is planning to modernize and revisit older Assassin’s Creed titles to bring them up to date.

Guillemont expressed the studio’s excitement about the upcoming remakes, stating that there are still incredibly rich worlds in some of the older Assassin’s Creed games that are worth revisiting. While specific details about the remakes were not disclosed, there is anticipation building around the potential remaster of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, codenamed Obsidian.

Insider Gaming has reported on the development of the Black Flag remake and even caught a glimpse of Edward Kenway in the remastered version, although details remain under wraps. The remakes are expected to breathe new life into the classic titles and offer fans a fresh perspective on the familiar stories.

One of the key aspects of the remakes is the utilization of the ‘Anvil Pipeline’ engine, as reported by Insider Gaming earlier this year. This engine represents a significant evolution in Ubisoft’s game development capabilities, leading to substantial improvements in in-game animations, parkour mechanics, and more.

Aside from remakes, Guillemont hinted at the future of the Assassin’s Creed series, promising a variety of experiences for players. He emphasized the studio’s commitment to delivering new and diverse gameplay with each installment, ensuring that the franchise remains engaging and innovative.

While details about specific remakes and upcoming titles are still scarce, fans are eagerly awaiting more information about the revitalized Assassin’s Creed games. The prospect of revisiting iconic moments from the series in a modernized setting has sparked excitement among the community, with many looking forward to the surprises that Ubisoft has in store.
