The integration of a fingerprint reader with Matter-over-Thread connectivity addresses significant challenges encountered with conventional smart locks. By leveraging the speed and convenience of a fingerprint reader and the efficiency of Matter-over-Thread connectivity, U-tec aims to tackle issues such as poor battery life and connectivity limitations.

The Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint Matter smart lock, priced at $299, is poised to bridge this gap by offering extended battery life while ensuring seamless integration with popular smart home platforms including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
Notably, the Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint Matter smart lock also features a physical keyhole and a keypad, providing users with multiple unlocking options for added convenience and security.
U-tec is set to debut its groundbreaking smart lock at the upcoming CES 2024 tech show in Las Vegas. In addition to the new smart lock, the company will introduce the U home mobile app, a Wi-Fi mesh smart lighting system, and two security cameras, signaling its foray into the broader smart home ecosystem.
Furthermore, U-tec will showcase a Wi-Fi variant of the fingerprint lock designed for seamless compatibility with Apple Home, as well as a model without a fingerprint reader that supports Apple’s Home Key.
