Trader Joe’s Voluntarily Recalls Cashews in 16 States

Trader Joe’s has issued a voluntary recall of its 50% Less Salt Roasted and Salted Whole Cashews in 16 states due to potential salmonella contamination. The affected cashews are sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

The recall applies to specific lots with best before dates of February 21, 2025; March 1, 2025; March 8, 2025; and March 10, 2025. Trader Joe’s, a California-based grocer with over 500 stores across 43 states, emphasized that no illnesses related to the recalled cashews have been reported thus far.

Customers who have purchased the affected product are advised to either discard it or return it to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund. This recall follows recent incidents, including the recall of 61,000 pounds of steamed chicken soup dumplings due to potential contamination with hard plastic, as well as a cookie recall in the previous year.

Trader Joe’s continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its customers by taking proactive measures to address potential product issues. The grocer remains committed to upholding high-quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
