Toyota recalls 381,000 Tacoma trucks in U.S. over safety issue

Toyota has announced a recall of about 381,000 Tacoma midsize pickup trucks in the U.S. due to a potential safety issue. The recall affects specific trucks from the 2022 and 2023 model years.

The company stated that welding debris left on the ends of the axles could lead to the loosening of some nuts over time, potentially causing them to fall off. This could result in the separation of the part from the axle, impacting the vehicle’s stability and brake performance.

While Toyota did not disclose whether any accidents or injuries have occurred as a result of this issue, it has assured that dealers will inspect the rear axles and tighten retaining nuts free of charge. Any damaged components will be repaired or replaced, with affected customers set to receive notifications by mail in late April.

The safety of automotive vehicles remains a top priority, and proactive measures such as recalls are essential to ensure the well-being of consumers on the road.
