Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs Fans Have an All-New Audio Game Day Experience

Scotiabank Arena has recently undergone a $350 million renovation, incorporating 1 SOUND’s Cannon C4i’s to enhance the fan experience for the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and NBA’s Toronto Raptors.

The initiative was part of a multi-phase renovation by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) to elevate the fan experience, specifically targeting the Mastercard Executive Suites, Theatre Suites, and Mastercard Lounge.

The audio design, spearheaded by WJHW, a global design and consultant firm, focused on integrating 1 SOUND’s Cannon C4i loudspeakers into the arena. The objective was to seamlessly blend the audio system with the high-end finishes of the room, delivering an enhanced audio experience in the suites while maintaining a small form factor. The aim was to bring directional sound from the court, ice, and other high-energy areas of the arena into the suites to create an immersive experience. The Cannon C4i’s were chosen for their high-fidelity sound quality, extended low frequency, and compact 6-inch box footprint.

Branch Audiovisual, in collaboration with 1 SOUND Custom Shop, undertook the audio installation, ensuring the loudspeakers seamlessly blended in with the surroundings. Approximately 100 Cannon C4i’s with custom color C-Clamps accessories were installed in all of the arena’s suites, while custom-colored Cannon C5i’s with matching C-Clamps were utilized in the Mastercard Lounge, the shared-members dining space.

Following the success of the project, MLSE further upgraded the Raptors Practice Court’s audio system with Branch AV and integrated 1 SOUND’s line of larger loudspeakers for the basketball court’s system.
