Ali maintained relationships with both Sandoval and Kristen Doute, even after their respective splits. Following Ali’s sudden passing, Sandoval, Madix, and Doute took to social media to honor their late friend, expressing their deep care and respect for him.

Ali Rafiq, a photographer, was a long-time friend of Sandoval, having formed a bond with him during their high school days in St. Louis, Missouri. While Sandoval pursued a career in acting and modeling in Los Angeles, Ali thrived in his photography career.

In May 2023, Ali tragically passed away after a fall at his family home in Missouri, where he hit his head on a table. His sister revealed that Ali had no known illnesses other than asthma, and his death certificate listed ‘organ failure’ as the cause of death.
