Tokyo Clanpool Set to Launch on Switch and PC in December 2024

Tokyo Clanpool, a dungeon RPG developed by Compile Heart, is set to launch on December 19, 2024, for the Nintendo Switch in Asia and for PC through GOG worldwide. The game will be priced at $39.99 or €39.99 and will feature localization in English and Traditional Chinese. Following its initial release, a worldwide launch for the Switch version will also take place.

Initially, the PC version was planned for release on Steam; however, eastasiasoft has confirmed that the game will now exclusively be available on GOG, marking a significant shift in its distribution strategy.

For fans eager to own a physical copy, pre-orders are currently available for both standard and Limited Editions of the Switch version through Play-Asia. Notably, only 3,000 Limited Editions will be produced, which will include a variety of collectible items such as the game, a manual, a soundtrack CD, an art book, a sticker sheet, a poster, and a numbered certificate, all packaged in a collector’s box.

Tokyo Clanpool originally debuted on the PS Vita in Japan on September 25, 2017, and has since garnered interest from RPG enthusiasts worldwide. The game is set in a near-future Tokyo, where the government has collapsed due to the emergence of a colossal tower extending from the enigmatic Reverse City in the sky, reaching the National Diet Building. In this chaotic environment, players will step into the shoes of the newly inaugurated Prime Minister, Natsume Kannuki, who must lead her team of Diet Dolls in a battle against monstrous threats.

As a dungeon RPG, Tokyo Clanpool invites players to delve deeper into the tower to confront the looming monster threat while uncovering the truth behind its origin. Players will have the opportunity to equip various Digiskins that allow for character customization, enhancing skills and abilities as they navigate through intricate mazelike corridors in a first-person perspective.

The game features fast-paced and strategic turn-based combat, enabling players to utilize ether-based powers to manipulate the dungeon environment—whether that means floating above obstacles or digging tunnels to create new pathways. An intriguing aspect of the game is the necessity to maintain the approval ratings of the citizens. Positive actions can yield valuable bonuses, while a decline in support could lead to the resignation of the entire cabinet, adding a layer of strategy to the gameplay.

Key features of Tokyo Clanpool include:

  • A dynamic dungeon RPG experience set in a futuristic Tokyo.
  • Players assume the role of the young Prime Minister and her charming cabinet members.
  • The importance of citizen approval ratings, which can provide bonuses or result in losing support.
  • Exploration of mazelike dungeons in a first-person view, coupled with engaging turn-based combat.
  • Special attacks such as Sacred Union to gain advantages against formidable foes.
  • The ability to alter dungeon structures by breaking walls or creating tunnels.
  • Customization of class abilities and skills through different Digiskins.

As the release date approaches, excitement builds among fans of the genre. A new trailer has also been released, showcasing the game’s captivating visuals and gameplay mechanics.

For those interested in exploring this unique blend of RPG elements and strategic gameplay, Tokyo Clanpool promises to deliver an engaging experience that combines traditional role-playing with innovative mechanics. Stay tuned for further updates as the launch date nears!
