Tiger Woods Ends 27-Year Partnership with Nike

Tiger Woods has announced the end of his 27-year partnership with Nike, the world’s largest sportswear company. The golf legend took to X to express his gratitude for the iconic brand and hinted at a new chapter in his career.

Nike bid farewell to Woods on Instagram, acknowledging his impact on the sport and the brand. The announcement has sparked speculation about Woods’ future partnerships, with ON Running’s CEO confirming that the Swiss sneaker brand will not be collaborating with the golf icon.

Woods’ association with Nike has been synonymous with his career, from his professional debut in 1996 to his Masters win in 2019. Despite facing personal challenges that led to the loss of other sponsors, Woods maintained a steadfast relationship with Nike.

Throughout the years, Woods signed multiple lucrative deals with Nike, including a reported $20 million annual agreement and a 10-year deal worth approximately $200 million in 2013. However, the value of his partnership with Nike decreased to about half of that amount annually by 2019.

Despite fluctuations in public opinion, Woods remains one of the most recognizable athletes in the country, with a strong following among sports fans. The decision to part ways with Nike has raised questions about the brand’s future in the golf business, according to industry experts.
