Two siblings, Jacob, 28, and Harley Nelson, 21, have gained international fame as the ‘Spud Brothers’ for their delectable baked potatoes. Their humble potato van located in Preston Flag Market has attracted potato enthusiasts from around the globe, including Australia, Turkey, Spain, Germany, and Amsterdam.
Thanks to their viral presence on TikTok, the @TheSpudBrothers have amassed a dedicated following, with customers often queuing for hours to savor their famous spuds. The demand is so high that the brothers frequently find themselves turning away eager customers due to the two-hour cooking time required for their jacket potatoes.
Jacob Nelson expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, emphasizing the importance of providing a special and interactive experience for their patrons. The business, initially established in 1955 by Ernie Rhodes and later passed down through generations, has evolved into a beloved local institution under the stewardship of Anthony, 57, and his sons, Harley and Jacob.
Their menu offers a variety of delectable toppings, with each potato meal selling for approximately £5. Jacob, who left his sales manager position to join the family business, reminisced about his early years working alongside the previous owner, Keith Roberts.
