A new AI benchmark based on Street Fighter III was devised at the Mistral AI hackathon in San Francisco. The open-source LLM Colosseum benchmark allows LLMs to duke it out in unconventional fashion. Smaller models have a speed advantage in winning bouts. The LLMs make real-time decisions in the game, prompting how to react after analyzing the game state. Tests showed OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 Turbo and Anthropic’s claude_3_haiku as winners in different series of matches.
