Revolutionary Pulsed Field Ablation Treatment for Atrial Fibrillation Making Waves in Medical Field

Discover the revolutionary treatment approach for atrial fibrillation (AF) with pulsed field ablation (PFA). This cutting-edge technology is set to outshine traditional methods, offering enhanced safety and efficacy in addressing heart rhythm disorders. With recent FDA approvals and market milestones, PFA is poised to transform AF treatment in the US, promising a brighter future in cardiac care.

Treating Gum Disease May Lower Risk of Irregular Heart Rate

Treating gum disease may lower the risk of atrial fibrillation reoccurring, according to a new study. Researchers found that those whose gum disease was treated after ablation were 61% less likely to experience a reoccurrence. The study measured elevated levels of inflammatory proteins in the blood of participants with severe gum disease, and higher levels of antibodies for gum disease-related bacteria were linked to greater atrial fibrillation reoccurrence. The team encourages people with atrial fibrillation to seek treatment for gum disease if necessary, emphasizing preventive measures such as brushing with fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day, daily flossing or using interdental sticks, and regular dental check-ups.

Cleveland Clinic Pioneers New Tissue-Sparing Ablation Procedure for Atrial Fibrillation

Cleveland Clinic has made headlines for being among the first hospitals to perform a new tissue-sparing ablation procedure known as pulsed field ablation (PFA). This innovative technology offers a safer and more effective alternative for patients with symptomatic atrial fibrillation (Afib), providing hope for improved outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with Afib.
