Superstar Acts Confirmed for Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2024

The Cheltenham Jazz Festival is set to make a grand return this spring, showcasing an impressive lineup of renowned artists from various music genres. The festival, known as one of Europe’s largest jazz events, is expected to draw over 55,000 music enthusiasts to the spa town during the week-long extravaganza from May 1 to May 6, 2024.

The 2024 festival promises an eclectic mix of international jazz icons, emerging talents, exclusive performances, world premieres, masterclasses, family-friendly shows, industry discussions, and free events. With a theme that bridges generations, the event aims to unite jazz legends with the latest artists, offering a diverse and vibrant musical experience.

Star-Studded Lineup

The festival will feature an array of world-class artists, including the legendary US vocalist Dionne Warwick, Grammy-winning singer Gregory Porter, and English dance-pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Other notable acts set to grace the stage are reggae sensation UB40, South African vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, soulful singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti, electronica/trip hop pioneers Morcheeba, and many more.

In a special tribute to British blues, Robert Plant will also perform alongside Saving Grace feat. Suzi Dian, showcasing a blend of his latest music and classic hits. The festival will also showcase contemporary jazz talents such as New York collective Snarky Puppy, celebrated British jazz musician Courtney Pine, Grammy-nominated American trumpeter Theo Croker, and genre-defying Scottish multi-instrumentalist corto.alto, among others.

Anticipated Performances

Notable highlights of the festival include Gregory Porter’s solo show and collaboration with Bettye LaVette and the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, as well as Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s resurgence with her hit song ‘Murder On The Dancefloor.’ Additionally, the event will feature a career-spanning set by UB40, a captivating performance by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and an electrifying showcase by Jack Savoretti.

Exciting Additions

The festival will also see Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman and BBC 6 Music presenter Huey Morgan, as well as acid jazz and funk group the Brand New Heavies joined onstage by players from the London Concert Orchestra. With a diverse range of acts and performances, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival is poised to offer an unforgettable musical experience for attendees.
