Square Enix Rumors Swirl on Social Media

A flurry of Square Enix rumors has taken social media by storm, originating from the mysterious Midori account. Known for previously leaking Atlus and SEGA projects, Midori has resurfaced with new insights into the industry, shedding light on various upcoming titles.

Among the recent claims made by Midori is the development of a remake for Final Fantasy 9. Initially outsourced, the project has reportedly been brought in-house and is nearing completion. The remake is expected to launch on multiple platforms, following Square Enix’s new approach, with releases planned for PS5, PS4, and other systems.

Additionally, the Dragon Quest HD-2D title, recently showcased, is rumored to be part of a trilogy set to be revealed at an upcoming Nintendo Direct event.

One of the more intriguing rumors is the absence of a Kingdom Hearts update at the Summer Game Fest, as indicated by host Geoff Keighley. However, there are whispers of a potential collaboration between Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite, possibly introducing characters like Sora to the Battle Royale game.

While Midori has a history of accurate leaks related to Atlus, the veracity of their information regarding other publishers remains uncertain. As the rumors continue to circulate, it remains to be seen how much insight Midori truly possesses into the plans of various gaming companies.
