Sony has made the decision to skip Gamescom 2024, marking the fifth consecutive year of absence from the annual event in Germany. The company officially stated that Sony Interactive has no plans to participate in Gamescom 2024, as reported by German outlet Games Wirtschaft.
Following Sony’s announcement, Nintendo also confirmed its non-attendance at Gamescom this year. Notably, during the previous year’s event, Nintendo reportedly presented closed-door tech demos of the Nintendo Switch 2 to select press members and game developers.
Despite the absence of Sony and Nintendo, other prominent companies such as THQ Nordic and Ubisoft are set to showcase their latest games at Gamescom 2024.
