Sofía Vergara recently shared some fascinating behind-the-scenes insights about The Hollywood Reporter’s latest cover story, where she joined other renowned actresses for the drama actress roundtable. Despite undergoing knee surgery just two weeks before the shoot, the Griselda star was determined not to miss the opportunity to appear alongside Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, and other talented actresses.
After her team expressed concerns about her health and appearance following the surgery, suggesting she should cancel, Vergara insisted on being part of the cover shoot. Even though she was still using a walker due to her inability to walk properly at the time, she was resolute in her decision to participate in the shoot.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Vergara humorously reflected on her experience during the shoot. She pointed out the discomfort she felt during the session, emphasizing that her facial expression in the cover photo didn’t reveal the full extent of her physical challenges. Additionally, she mentioned that her leg, which was propped up on a cushion, was later edited out of the final cover image.
Not one to conform to traditional norms, Vergara decided to interpret the ‘business casual’ dress code in her unique style, opting for an outfit that stood out from the more formal attire of her fellow actresses. She playfully compared her ensemble to those of the others, joking about their more conservative choices.
Despite enduring an eight-hour surgery, Vergara assured fans that she is on the road to recovery and feeling ‘OK.’ However, her recovery was evident in her choice of footwear for the interview – a pair of white sneakers, a departure from her usual glamorous shoe selections.
During the roundtable discussion, Vergara touched on her transition from comedy to drama, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Her determination to participate in the cover shoot despite the challenges she faced is a testament to her commitment to her craft and her colleagues in the industry.
