Skull and Bones Launching on PlayStation 5 with Immersive Features

Get ready to set sail on a thrilling pirate adventure as Skull and Bones launches on PlayStation 5 on February 16, with an Open Beta running from February 8-11. The game takes full advantage of the immersive features of the PS5, including the DualSense wireless controller and 3D Audio, to bring players an unparalleled gaming experience.

Skull and Bones, set during the Golden Age of Piracy in the Indian Ocean, promises players a challenging and gritty journey from being a shipwrecked nobody to becoming a feared pirate kingpin. The game’s Technical Director, Jussi Markkanen, revealed that the title reflects the harsh and unforgiving environment players will navigate, where they must leverage every opportunity to survive and thrive.

One of the most exciting aspects of Skull and Bones on the PS5 is the utilization of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. Naval combat, a core element of the game, comes to life with the adaptive triggers, providing players with a unique and immersive experience. The tension of the triggers varies depending on the weapon being used, with faster-firing arsenal requiring a light pull and heavier weapons offering stronger resistance, creating a satisfying and distinct sensation for each shot fired.

Additionally, the controller’s rumble feature enhances the gaming experience by providing feedback based on the player’s actions and the in-game environment. For example, players will feel the intensity of enemy attacks in their hands as they take damage in the game.
