Shooting incident involving Milton Police Department officer at Walmart parking lot in Georgia

A suspect was seriously injured in a shooting incident involving a Milton Police Department officer at a Walmart parking lot in Milton, Georgia. The incident took place at 5200 Windward Parkway, resulting in the suspect being taken to Wellstar North Fulton Hospital for treatment. Another suspect was also apprehended by the authorities.

During the altercation, a Milton police officer sustained minor injuries and was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical attention. Witnesses reported that police had attempted to stop a car between a McDonald’s and Walmart, leading to the arrest of a woman from the vehicle. The driver allegedly hit an officer with the car, prompting officers to fire shots at the vehicle.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been called in to investigate the shooting incident, as is standard procedure when an officer discharges their weapon. This remains a developing story, and updates can be expected from Atlanta News First as the situation unfolds.
