Shangri-La Dispensaries Makes Grand Entrance into Connecticut Cannabis Market

Shangri-La Dispensaries made a grand entrance into the Connecticut cannabis market with the official opening of its retail location on Main Avenue in Norwalk. The new recreational cannabis store marks the second of its kind in Norwalk, following the recent opening of Fine Fettle at 191 Main St. Shangri-La Dispensaries, known for its presence in states like Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri, has further expansion plans in Connecticut with upcoming outlets in East Hartford, Plainville, and Waterbury, along with a manufacturing production facility in Stratford.

CEO Nevil Patel expressed excitement about the Norwalk opening by offering customers a generous 20 percent discount storewide on the inaugural day, which coincided with April 20, a significant date for cannabis enthusiasts. Last summer, the company also secured a second permit from the city for a drive-thru cannabis dispensary on Connecticut Ave. in Norwalk.

Connecticut legalized the sale of recreational cannabis on July 1, 2021, with retail sales commencing on Jan. 10, 2023. The arrival of Shangri-La Dispensaries adds to the diverse landscape of cannabis retailers in the state, catering to the growing demand for cannabis products among consumers.

As the cannabis industry continues to evolve in Connecticut, the opening of Shangri-La’s retail location in Norwalk signifies a significant milestone for both the company and the local community. With a focus on providing quality products and a unique shopping experience, Shangri-La is poised to make a lasting impact on the state’s cannabis market.
