Shane van Gisbergen’s Qualifying Session Marred by Inspection Failures

Shane van Gisbergen’s qualifying session at the Las Vegas Xfinity Series race was marred by drama as his practice time was cut short due to two inspection failures. As a result, the New Zealand driver will start the race from 25th position.

Reports from the US revealed that van Gisbergen’s Kaulig Racing Camaro failed the pre-qualifying inspection twice, leading to the ejection of a crew member and the loss of pit selection for the upcoming Phoenix round. The inspection failures also affected van Gisbergen’s track time during practice, with the Kiwi initially posting the 33rd fastest time before improving to 25th in the qualifying session for the Las Vegas race.

The pole position for the race was secured by Cole Cluster, with Chandler Smith starting alongside him. Meanwhile, van Gisbergen’s Kaulig teammate AJ Allmendinger will commence the race from the third position.

The Las Vegas Xfinity Series race is scheduled to commence at 9am AEDT on Sunday.
