Schubert North America Wins 2024 Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation

Schubert North America has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation at the recent 2024 Sweets & Snacks Expo held in Indianapolis. The company was recognized for its development of Cobot tog.519, a collaborative robot designed to work alongside humans in manufacturing and packaging settings.

The National Confectioners Association, led by president & CEO John Downs, commended Schubert North America for its dedication to innovation and investment in its workforce. The association highlighted the importance of technological advancements that enhance operations, improve efficiencies, and support employees within the chocolate and candy industry.

The Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation, established in 2018, aims to acknowledge breakthrough innovations within the supplier community that drive progress in the confectionery sector. This award specifically honors a supplier member company of the National Confectioners Association that has introduced an innovative solution in the past year to enhance the manufacturing, distribution, marketing, and sales of chocolate and candy products.

The selection process for the award involved submissions from various suppliers, which were evaluated by a panel of industry experts including representatives from Perfetti Van Melle North America, Spangler Candy Company, RM Palmer Company LLC, PIM Brands, Inc., Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, and others.

Schubert North America’s Cobot tog.519 stood out for its unique approach to integrating robotics into the confectionery industry, focusing on collaboration with human workers rather than replacing them. This innovative technology aligns with the industry’s commitment to fostering creativity, efficiency, and employee support.
