San Antonio Spurs Rally to Beat Minnesota Timberwolves 113-112

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs rallied to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-112 on Saturday night, with Devin Vassell and Victor Wembanyama leading the charge. The game, held at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, saw an intense battle between the two teams, ultimately resulting in a narrow victory for the Spurs.

Anthony Edwards stood out for the Timberwolves, delivering an impressive performance with 32 points and 12 rebounds, while Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns also made significant contributions with 19 points each. However, Towns missed a crucial 3-pointer at the buzzer, ending the Timberwolves’ two-game winning streak.

Notably, play was briefly interrupted early in the game when a bat descended onto the court just after Wembanyama made a 3-pointer. The Spurs’ mascot, The Coyote, eventually managed to capture the bat with a net, providing a lighthearted moment amidst the intense competition.

Wembanyama’s 3-pointer gave San Antonio a 112-107 lead with two minutes remaining, but he later missed two free throws, keeping the game on a knife-edge. Ultimately, Keldon Johnson’s free throw secured a 113-112 victory for the Spurs, setting up Towns’ final shot which unfortunately fell short.

With this win, the Spurs will now prepare to host Washington on Monday night, while the Timberwolves will face Oklahoma City on the same evening.
