RV Industry Leadership Conference CEO Panel Discussion

RV Industry Leadership Conference, hosted by the RV Industry Association (RVIA), saw a CEO Panel Discussion about leadership styles. The panel featured Grand Design RV President & CEO Don Clark, Blue Compass RV President & CEO Jon Ferrando, and Thetford/Norcold Executive Vice President Mary Pouliot, who shared their thoughts on leadership.

Mary Pouliot emphasized the importance of a transformational leadership style, setting a vision, high expectations, and empowering the team to execute. She highlighted the evolution of her leadership style from being more directional and transactional to collaborative and teamwork-oriented.

Don Clark urged leaders not to settle for the status quo and not to surround themselves with people who do. He encouraged being unconventional, bold, and taking risks, emphasizing that failures can be valuable learning experiences.

During the panel discussion, Jon Ferrando expressed his surprise at the underdevelopment of service and parts in the RV industry compared to the automotive sector, highlighting the significant lag in RV service compared to automotive service.
