Roxy Jacenko, the well-known PR maven, has made a public announcement on her Instagram account, expressing her commitment to refund all 7000 individuals who enrolled in her boot camp program. The decision to reimburse participants was made as Roxy admitted to ‘losing control’ over the initiative, which included a grand prize of a $10 million mansion.
The online course, Brand Bootcamp, offered at a starting price of $29, promised participants a chance to win various luxurious prizes, such as the waterfront mansion in Sydney’s Cronulla, $250,000 in cash, a Birkin bag, and a Rolex watch.
Despite the enticing rewards, Roxy Jacenko revealed that she would personally refund the fees for all entrants, covering the costs from her own finances. She recounted the inception of the promotion, which originated from an Instagram direct message proposing a collaboration for the courses. However, as the campaign progressed, Roxy expressed discomfort and suggested issuing refunds early on, a proposition that was reportedly declined by her unidentified business partners.
Despite her initial willingness to contribute $150,000 towards customer reimbursements, Roxy’s offer was turned down, leading to her decision to refund all participants independently. The PR queen detailed the extensive media push behind the initiative and her subsequent unease with the direction of the promotion.
