Romantic Cocktails Perfect for Valentine’s Day

We all imagine romantic dinners with gorgeous meals of steak or lobster, paired with good Champagne. But there’s so much more to romance than chilled bubbles. Just like the perfect jewelry or flowers, the right cocktails just may help to set the mood during Valentine’s Day date night.

The Lily

Available at Odd Sister in New York City, bitter orange aperitivo infused with strawberries and topped with Lambrusco. This bittersweet effervescent cocktail is sure to please any spritz drink! “Named after Irish poet, William Butler Yeats’, ‘Odd Sister’, Lily Yeats, The Lily is undeniably a popular signature cocktail on our menu! The ruby red color makes it a perfect choice for a Valentine’s Day aperitif,” said Clodagh Culkin, partner at Odd Sister.

The Ruby Tango

Found at Root and Vine at the newly opened The Westin Washington, DC Downtown, this cocktail is made with Corazón Blanco Tequila, Campari, beets, pineapple, and lime. Marc Rios, General Manager, Food & Beverage, says: “Inspired by the passionate and rhythmic dance, the Tango, The Ruby Tango is the perfect blend of flavors, symbolizing romance, connection, and commitment. The Ruby Tango, a riff on the Jungle Bird, has a deep ruby hue from the combination of beetroot and Campari, which makes the cocktail tropical, earthy, and slightly bitter. This cocktail is sure to tantalize our guests’ palate.”

Lychee Blossom

At Bar Collins at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, a blend of vodka, fresh raspberries, lemon, lychee puree and simple syrup, topped with house made lychee foam and garnished with a raspberry gelee heart. Loews Miami Beach Hotel Director of Food & Beverage, Eric Queiroz, says, “Sweet lychees and tart raspberries marry beautifully in this Valentine’s Day pink cocktail, making it ideal for toasting to love over a romantic dinner at Bar Collins.”

Velvet Kiss

Found at sexy steakhouse Strip House in New York City, this is a play on the classic French 75, made with Sweet Gwendoline French Gin, Liber & Co. raspberry syrup, fresh lemon, and French sparkling rose. “Sweet Gwendoline is a favorite of ours at Strip House, so when we were tasked with developing a Valentine’s Day cocktail, it was our first choice. The cocktail speaks for itself – showing beautiful botanical notes, bright raspberry sweetness, and a delightfully tart finish. This is the perfect way to spark a night of romance,” said the team at Strip House.
