Rich Paul Reveals Intentional Limited Draft Workouts for Bronny James

Agent Rich Paul, representing NBA draft prospect Bronny James, has revealed that the limited number of draft workouts for James with NBA teams has been intentional. Despite difficulties in securing workouts, James has only worked out individually for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers so far, according to Paul.

The Suns and Lakers, holding the No. 22, 17, and 55 picks respectively in the upcoming NBA draft, have had exclusive sessions with James. Paul emphasized that this strategy is not unique, citing previous instances where he guided clients to favorable destinations without extensive workouts.

Paul highlighted his success in securing guaranteed deals for players like Talen Horton-Tucker, Brandon Boston Jr., and Chris Livingston, who were selected later in the draft after limited workouts. He mentioned his approach of selectively exposing clients to teams that show genuine interest, aiming to secure the best fit for the player.

Referring to NBA rules that now prohibit withholding medical information from teams, Paul clarified that his past strategies, including limiting workouts, were in line with finding the right fit for his clients. He stressed that the focus is on player development and ensuring a suitable environment for growth.

Paul reiterated that the priority is not the team or draft position but finding a conducive situation for James’ development. He emphasized that this approach is consistent with his past clients and their successful transitions to the NBA.
