Michigan State University’s forward, Reed Lebster, realized his childhood dream of playing hockey for the Spartans when he scored the game-winning goal on Friday, securing the team’s first Big Ten championship in 17 years. Lebster, originally committed to MSU, began his career at the University of Massachusetts before transferring to MSU as a graduate student.

His experience as a top-six forward on the UMass national championship team brought invaluable big-game experience to the Spartans. According to MSU coach Adam Nightingale, Lebster’s leadership, poise, and on-ice performance were instrumental in the team’s victory.

During Friday’s game, Lebster demonstrated his veteran’s approach by making crucial plays. He scored the game-winning goal in the third period and assisted in securing the first empty-net goal, showcasing his skill and experience.
