Rainbow Six Siege Joins 2025 Esports World Cup Lineup

Ubisoft’s acclaimed first-person shooter, Rainbow Six Siege, has officially joined the roster for the highly anticipated 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC). This announcement marks an exciting addition to the event, which is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the summer of 2025. Rainbow Six Siege is among several other notable titles that will compete for glory in this prestigious esports tournament.

The prize pool for the Rainbow Six Siege segment of the EWC has yet to be disclosed. However, the previous tournament in 2024 featured an impressive $2 million prize pool, which was shared among 16 competing teams. In addition, the event was a part of the Club Championship, where organizations vied for points across multiple games to claim a portion of an additional $20 million prize pool.

According to data from esports analytics platform Esports Charts, the 2024 tournament achieved significant viewership milestones, with peak numbers reaching 67,873 viewers. The grand finals saw Team BDS triumph over w7m esports, showcasing the high level of competition within the Rainbow Six esports community.

2024 has proven to be a remarkable year for the Rainbow Six esports scene. The Six Invitational tournament held in February set new records for viewership, while the recent announcement of a revamped esports revenue program aims to provide organizations with enhanced opportunities for monetization. This initiative is expected to bolster the financial sustainability of esports teams and enhance the overall ecosystem.

Rainbow Six Siege is now the seventh title confirmed for the 2025 Esports World Cup, joining a lineup that includes other major games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Street Fighter 6, and Dota 2. The inclusion of these popular titles highlights the growing prominence of esports on the global stage.

François-Xavier Dénièle, the Vice President of Esports and Competitive Gaming at Ubisoft, expressed enthusiasm about Rainbow Six Siege’s participation in the upcoming tournament. He stated, “We are thrilled to announce the return of Rainbow Six Esports to the Esports World Cup in 2025. The Esports World Cup is a premier stage that brings together some of the world’s best esports teams and passionate fans. Last year’s tournament showcased the intense strategic gameplay that our community loves. We’re looking forward to witnessing an exciting competition and creating new unforgettable moments next summer.”

The organization of the Esports World Cup is overseen by the Esports World Cup Foundation, which is supported by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. Despite its backing, the event has faced scrutiny from various stakeholders within the esports industry due to concerns regarding Saudi Arabia’s human rights record.

As the 2025 Esports World Cup approaches, the excitement surrounding Rainbow Six Siege and its competitors continues to build. Fans and players alike are eager to witness the strategic gameplay and thrilling matches that have become synonymous with the Rainbow Six franchise. As preparations for the tournament unfold, all eyes will be on Riyadh as it sets the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable summer of esports.
