Quaker Oats Expands Recall Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

Quaker Oats has announced an expanded recall of numerous granola and cereal products due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall, prompted by concerns over the risk of serious and sometimes fatal infections, includes products such as Quaker Chewy Granola Bars, Cap’n Crunch Treat bars, and oatmeal items. The company has provided a detailed list of affected products, along with instructions for consumers to return the items or request reimbursement. The affected products were sold nationwide at various retailers, including Walmart and Sam’s Club.

In a separate development, CVS has confirmed the closure of select pharmacies inside Target stores, with the shutdowns set to commence in February. This move comes amidst challenges faced by the drugstore industry, including labor shortages and increasing competition from mail-order pharmacies, big-box stores, and online retailers.
