June 20, 2024 – In a recent update, power has been successfully restored to all affected areas in Sandusky, according to First Energy’s Storm Center website. The restoration efforts have been swift, with two previously affected areas now fully operational.

Initially, more than 1,500 First Energy customers in Sandusky’s west end were left without power due to four separate outages. The outages were concentrated in specific areas of the city, affecting different groups of customers.

The areas that experienced power outages included:

  • Just under 1,000 customers in an area bounded by Camp Street, West Perkins Avenue, and the Sandusky Bay shore.
  • Approximately 20 customers near the 2200 block of W. Madison St.
  • Around 300 customers in the city’s west end, with a focus around Lions Park.
  • Over 300 customers without power centered around Calvary Cemetery.

First Energy has provided an estimated timeline for full power restoration, indicating that service is expected to be fully operational between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.
