PJ Harvey Announces First North American Tour in Seven Years

PJ Harvey has announced her first North American tour in seven years, in support of her latest album ‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’. The tour is set to begin in September, following spring and summer performances across Europe and the United Kingdom. This marks Harvey’s return to North America since her 2017 tour, which included a notable performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.

The upcoming tour will feature a revamped live show, developed in collaboration with theater director Ian Rickson, set designer Rae Smith, and other creatives. Harvey will be joined on stage by her bandmates John Parish, Jean-Marc Butty, Giovanni Ferrario, and James Johnston.

Accompanying the tour announcement, PJ Harvey has released the music video for her track ‘Seem an I’. The visually captivating piece, filmed at England’s Kennel Farm, stars acclaimed actress Ruth Wilson and was directed by Colm Bairéad.

Expressing her admiration for Wilson’s work, PJ Harvey shared, ‘Ruth and I became friends after working together on Clio Barnard’s film Dark River. I have always greatly admired Ruth’s work as an actor, so had long harboured a dream that we might work together again in some way.’ Wilson reciprocated the sentiment, describing the experience as a ‘magical world of PJ Harvey.’

‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’ has garnered critical acclaim, earning PJ Harvey a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Despite being an eight-time Grammy nominee, the British musician is yet to secure a win.

With anticipation building for her North American tour, fans can catch PJ Harvey at various venues across the continent. The tour dates are set to commence in September, offering a long-awaited opportunity for fans to experience the renowned artist’s live performances once again.
